Salon Fais-Le-Toi-Même
Monday, September 29, 2008, 09:05 AM - General, Relationships, Art/Design, Stores: Etsy, Blue House, Language

Over the weekend I participated in the Salon Fais-Le-Toi-Meme, for L'Atelier d'éditions populaire, so we had the posters up from the Kitsch Catch Expo (as you can see in the second (bad) photo. The rest, on the table, especially for the Sunday, was all me. I met lots of good people, I think... the only thing I find interesting is, you watch people as they talk to you, they can hear your accent, and finally I mention that I am Australian, and their attitude towards you completely changes. Before you were an evil English person, and after you are one of those lovely Australians...

Photo Friday: Spontaneous
Friday, September 26, 2008, 04:12 PM - General, Relationships, Art/Design, Photography, Lomography

I mentioned I was going to post some photos from my few hours in a few Lille Churches on Sunday... small problem, the lab managed to give someone else one on my developed films the other day, gave me theirs, but, I have returned mine and I am still waiting for the other photographer to realise that he/she has the wrong negatives. I am hoping that they didn't make prints of his/her negatives, because I will NEVER see them otherwise. Oh well, I just have to wait. I can't do anything, so there is no point getting angry about it.

My 24 hours in Paris... maybe not even
Monday, September 22, 2008, 06:00 PM - General, Relationships, Photography, Lomography, French

Last friday, I went to Paris to have dinner with a group of people who were brought together partly to say à bientôt and to catch up... I arrived in the afternoon, and after finding my VdB who had left in the morning to go to the Paris Open Coffee (it is, if you need to know, where people who have a project, come together and speak about their idea, present it to new people, perhaps meet people interested in investing in them etc etc)... so while he met more of his colivinauts, I went to Père Lachaise. I had never been there until now. The last time I had the urge was in 1999 - 2000 just after there was a big storm in France, and it was actually closed due to the unsafe nature of the trees after the storm.
So, I got there, didn't buy a map, thinking it will be fine... how big can a cemetery be in Paris? Big mistake! I suggest you buy a map... so I wandered aimlessly, kind of followed people with a map, glanced occasionally at the maps in the cemetery... saw the appalling grave of Jim Morrison, by accident (I thought it might have been close when I started to see graffiti on other graves)... got tired of looking at tombs and left after an hour. It was a beautiful day, so it was nice in the sun... I took lots of photos.

Yesterday I took photos for a competition and I'll post my photos from my afternoon in churches for the "Journées Européennes du Patrimoine" (this means a lot of places that aren't normally open to the public are open, usually for free), when I get them back on Wednesday.
