today's topic is music

In the process of checking out what some musicians are doing at the moment, I stumbled across Jonathan Keeley's new website. He has used one of my illustrations from his CD for the navigation, I am pretty impressed.
I also bought the new CD by Ponies in the Surf : See You Happy yesterday (off evil itunes, but I am anti-accumulation at the moment)... and have been listening to it obsessively, like I used to do as a teenager. Not sure which is my favourite track yet.
The SpookyScareCrows have added a few more crazy tracks to their myspace, eventually they'll get enough tracks together and I'll get to finish their CD cover for them. Keep going kiddies!

That was something I haven't done for a while: Threadless Loves Lomography
Friday, June 20, 2008, 05:55 PM - General, Relationships, Art/Design, Illustration, Lomography, Screenprinting
I spent most of the day cleaning up and constructing my design for the Threadless Loves Lomography competition. I haven't submitted anything to Threadless for ages, so it was a good exercise. Yet to be approved.
... now, illustration friday...

Moleskine Exchange: Portrait Party No.1
Wednesday, June 18, 2008, 03:32 PM - General, Relationships, Art/Design, Illustration, Moleskine
Seems I am the first person to have something done for the Moleskine Exchange Portrait Party. This is how this one works;
You draw a self-portrait (so, yes, if you don't know me, that is me, although perhaps hard to tell), then you send your Moleskine to the next person, who gets access or acquires photos of you to choose from and draws your portrait and their portrait... and so on and so on.

60km ride... and then some
Monday, June 16, 2008, 09:13 AM - General, Relationships, English, French
Yesterday, we went on a "60km" bike ride with the ADAV (like the reclaim the streets crew in Australia) from Roubaix EuroTeleport, along the canals to Kortrijk (Courtrai) and then west along the canals, which was called the Lys then back into France once we hit Werwicq, went south through Lincelle, Bondues, Mouvaux, ROUBAIX! 83kms. It rained from about midday to 4, I was cold most of the day, but at least I had a wet weather top, unlike the VdB who was covered in mud, plus soaked.
The reason we did it was to see if we could do it, plus how we would feel the next day, and if we could do it again... and again for about 1000kms. You think we're crazy don't you? We have talked about doing a ride in France before, but the opportunity came up to, perhaps ride from Lille to Entrevaux (and hour North of Nice, in a car) where VdB's father has a property, for the 14th Of July.
I don't feel too bad now I am moving, but damn my butt hurts where I sat on the saddle all day. That is really my only complaint. I don't think we are ready to do it. Not this time.
