playing with Spoonflower

CheaterQuilt

This morning, well, to be honest, this week, I have spent the few hours that I have been able to do my own work, either looking morbidly at an A2 sized piece of paper, or desperately looking at an A4 piece of paper, or canvas... so I decided to just do something to get the juices flowing. I took some photos, played with the Hipstamatic application and designed fabric (today). This is my piece for the Spoonflower Cheaters Quilt competition. I do have it set as a mirror image when it repeats so the furry, red monster becomes a pushme-pullyou.

Moleskine Exchange 72 arrrrr!

Today, I finally have my Moleskine Exchange 72 generally done. I have been working further into the book too, but have yet to finish it. Soon soon. I want total interaction in my book.

website ideas flowing
Wednesday, June 2, 2010, 02:40 PM - General, Relationships, Art/Design, Illustration, Photography, Lomography

For weeks, perhaps even months, I have been harassing my man to help me create a new website that is actually on my server and not on Flickr, and he has always asked me to show him what I wanted. I have pointed him towards people's sites like Catherine Campbell , Marco Wagner or Maria Eugenia ... to give three examples.

He looks at their sites. he comes back after surfing the other day and tells me that those types of portfolio site just don't seem very "me" and I should perhaps think of something that has the pieces in a different piece of work, something created with elements of the original ones... I thought it was a good idea of course, but was just daunted.

I showed him Tim Danko's Psalm Sketchbook he agreed it was cool and kind of along the lines of what he had in mind... so this is where I am (above) after a small blow up in our house and some name calling... but I think this is a good idea. Using my a base of particular Lomography photos, I then place my pieces, or a part there of in the image.

(I have noticed I have the left handed thing going where nearly everyone faces the same way, I may flip some of the pieces). Onward we go!

no postage sale and hiding from the foul weather

Yellow Monsters Together

Anyone got a very large umbrella that can cover my whole suburb? Or perhaps a wind machine that can blow the clouds just over the dam and let us be for a few days?

Anyway...

Until the end of June I have decided to have a no postage sale in my Etsy Store. Some nice little savings to be had there.
