illustration friday night: resetting my pubic image

Am I really resetting my public image? Not sure, but the monkey is in some trouble there...
On another topic, my Etsy store is ramping up into a beast that gets updated almost every day, pretty sad really, but kind of funny at the same time. I haven't sold anything yet on it... but I have been told it takes a little time sometimes. I tell you, I am addicted to buying prints from there at the moment.
Illustration friday night: Pop Song

Last Boat Leaving Elvis Costello (Spike)
I have piles of these Gocco prints all over my desk, in different stages of finish, as the screen had strange imperfections. But, me being a form of perfectionist, I had to hand retouch them all, one by one...
I am happy! Can you believe it?
So to explain myself: this is one of those pieces of mine that come from music. I am not sure you would call it a "pop song" but it is a song, yes. I love that album, it would be one of my favourites. Although, recently I got mp3s of the album (as my vinyl version is sitting in a garage in Australia) and there is a ring-in track... it just can't do, I removed it. Sorry Declan, but it broke the mood of the end of the record that I was used to.
I have another image brewing in my head from this album.
This item is for sale, finished of course, in my Etsy Store
illustration friday: poem

This piece is another illustration of an Ern Malley poem:
Dürer: Innsbruck, 1495
I had often, cowled in the slumberous heavy air,
Closed my inanimate lids to find it real,
As I knew it would be, the colourful spires
And painted roofs, the high snows glimpsed at the back,
All reversed in the quiet reflecting waters —
Not knowing then that Dürer perceived it too.
Now I find that once more I have shrunk
To an interloper, robber of dead men’s dream,
I had read in books that art is not easy
But no one warned that the mind repeats
In its ignorance the vision of others. I am still
the black swan of trespass on alien waters.

He looks pretty happy for the "mistake he just made.
I need to blog about some stuff, but I just don't seem to have time.
Howiezine 10: Robots
Saturday, July 14, 2007, 04:51 PM - Art/Design, Illustration,
I have finished!
I actually did them double-sided this time, which is good, better. They are printed with a Gocco on a Russian / French book about Russian religious painting. More Russian than French, so who knows what it says... no matter.
So now I just need to send them off. I have a few extras that I am going to work on more, but I am happy for the Howiezine.
