Papageno is back and ready...

It has been a long time since I actually wrote anything on my blog, it has all been images and that's it. Possibly because I stopped all comments, due to spammers.
Papageno is back, as I prepare for an exhibition, with a slight Magic Flute theme. Finally show those etchings in Australia, plus most of the articulated creatures I have been producing. Just now making them presentable is on the cards... and if I produce a exhibition DIY beast for people to make themselves.

The Sketchbook Project

I have been slowly filling my Sketcbook for the Sketchbook Project. As I am not a huge sketcher, I tend to just get myself all warmed up in the book before launching into doing my work in the morning.

nesting dolls all over my desk
Monday, September 5, 2011, 02:03 AM - General, Relationships, Art/Design, Illustration, Exhibitions, Markets
I have been impassioned to paint nesting dolls. They are ramping up for the end of the year Finders Keepers, which I haven't applied to yet, but will, and hope I get in again.
I am sharing again, but someone different, not willing to tell everyone until it is confirmed and we are in.
Stay posted.

the monsters get smaller again
Monday, August 15, 2011, 04:47 AM - Relationships, Art/Design, Illustration, Exhibitions, Markets
There are moments when people ask me if I do bigger pieces, I suspect that means bigger than A4. I possibly would if there was a demand, yet the couple of bigger pieces I have at Sweets Workshop have been there for a while, perhaps admired...
So I concentrated on getting my brain moving again, I do have a piece that is around 420 x 297mm on my desk, plus all my new monoprint monsters. I also have the beginnings of the the elements for the 9 x 5 exhibition, held every year by Illustrators Australia (top left monoprint monster is destined for that).
