Last screen printing session and postcards
Saturday, February 23, 2008, 06:21 PM - General, Art/Design, Illustration, Lomography

I was able to do two "colours" today on my Ern Malley book, it was the same colour, but it means those pages are finished! I only have to do my cover, and my Ern Malley book is DONE! Not sure Ern is out of my system, but, that's ok. It is having a rest for a month while I am in Australia. I didn't like the photo I took of the final image, so too bad. (They are Alain's hands not mine blocking the screen).

I also received my postcards I had printed of my "Le Diable" tarot illustration and "The Last Book". I am really happy with them. They are for sale at Etsy if you like them too! oh, that was shameless...

Cuba Exhibition and sales!
Thursday, October 11, 2007, 09:21 AM - Art/Design, Illustration, , Lomography, French

I was hoping to have an image of the La Plus Petite Gallerie du Monde (ou presque) where we as Ateliers D'Edition Populaire have an exhibition until Saturday, but I didn't take a camera, and I am waiting for someone to send me photos, I dislike waiting for others, but that's what happens when you don't do it yourself.
I sold some Gocco prints while there... to be more precise my man sold them for me, including doing my speech, because I chickened out. I dislike speaking loudly, let alone in French loudly... so I didn't. I claimed I was sad and was all choked up about Australia and New Zealand losing the rugby. Yeah right.

So the above image is the second image I have done (not sure if we will get the time to print it) for an exhibition at La Maison Folie Wazemmes with posters from Cuba, and we are doing a poster with our impression of Cuba. The other original image, that is almost finished printing is with Buyse, so I can't show you right now.
But I am happy with the work we have done. The funny thing about the workshop is the people who go to the studio on Saturday morning are the stayers, and nearly everyone else has taken themselves off. Too slow for them or something.

I sold something on Etsy finally! Ouais!

illustration friday: Momentum: Woo! New Gocco Print!
Friday, September 7, 2007, 02:36 PM - Art/Design, Illustration, , Lomography

I know, I know, it is very reactive to have all those exclamation marks, but I had a "fallen in the hole" type of two weeks. This is the "momentum" of a collection of anger or disappointment. I came home last night and made myself start this print, instead of just watching The Power Of Art , which is incredibly interesting.
I have been being a toad to be honest (note I have not written that in the past). I apologised to a couple of my colleagues today after yesterday especially. Poor things having to look at my pale, grumpy looking face. My contract is nearly over, and all the crap that goes with it will end, thank God!
We had The Braderie last weekend here in Lille, lots of people, lots of partying, lots of very stinky garbage and piles of mussels... poooo! All got cleaned up pretty efficiently by Monday morning. I was a bit of a toad on Saturday night too, but I don't like clubs, never really have... so I am not going to pay to get into one. So there.

Anyway, charming little Majeak Ann has added me to a list of Rockin' Girl Bloggers... funny. Thanks Majeak Ann!

You can buy this print on my Etsy Store, if you so desire.

*yes, yes, I spelled mussels wrongly, kick me.

illustration friday night: resetting my pubic image
Sunday, July 29, 2007, 05:28 PM - Art/Design, Illustration, Illustration Friday Night, Lomography

Am I really resetting my public image? Not sure, but the monkey is in some trouble there...

On another topic, my Etsy store is ramping up into a beast that gets updated almost every day, pretty sad really, but kind of funny at the same time. I haven't sold anything yet on it... but I have been told it takes a little time sometimes. I tell you, I am addicted to buying prints from there at the moment.
