Floods and Film

Lots actually going on. I finished this piece this week, kind of felt like a warm up to something bigger. Sadly the "something bigger" hasn't been put down on paper yet, it is stewing in my head still.
The Moleskine Exchange exhibition in Minnesota is almost about to start, if you are in that area (and not covered in snow) more details here: Minnesota Centre for Book Arts. It seems like I am the star from the home page for the exhibition. Kind of making me feel embarrassed, but I guess in a good way.
There will be a blog up soon with donations for the Queensland floods with donated works from such wonderful artists as flossy-p, Catherine Campbell, Cat Rabbit, Beth-Emily (who is organising the whole thing)... and perhaps more... but that's all I know right now.
And finally as Australia kicks back into action, I can finally get all my films processed ...
The funny thing is this photo, that is on a film that was in my fisheye, has been in the camera for over a year. Seems I just love my Diana more than anything. Go to my Lomo Home to see more of my photos if you wish.

website ideas flowing

For weeks, perhaps even months, I have been harassing my man to help me create a new website that is actually on my server and not on Flickr, and he has always asked me to show him what I wanted. I have pointed him towards people's sites like Catherine Campbell , Marco Wagner or Maria Eugenia ... to give three examples.
He looks at their sites. he comes back after surfing the other day and tells me that those types of portfolio site just don't seem very "me" and I should perhaps think of something that has the pieces in a different piece of work, something created with elements of the original ones... I thought it was a good idea of course, but was just daunted.
I showed him Tim Danko's Psalm Sketchbook he agreed it was cool and kind of along the lines of what he had in mind... so this is where I am (above) after a small blow up in our house and some name calling... but I think this is a good idea. Using my a base of particular Lomography photos, I then place my pieces, or a part there of in the image.
(I have noticed I have the left handed thing going where nearly everyone faces the same way, I may flip some of the pieces). Onward we go!

I received my negatives back from Blanco Negro today, and have been busy scanning them. I had a roll from last October in France. Nice to finally see the images I took. See a selection here, or the full selection on Lomography

Am I getting somewhere?
Thursday, March 18, 2010, 10:48 AM - General, Relationships, Art/Design, Illustration, Photography, Lomography, Stores: Etsy, Blue House, Exhibitions, Markets
Today was the second day I had off in a row after going to New Zealand to see my Father's side of the family (hadn't been there for years), then to Melbourne to see my Mother & Step Father... coming back and working the day job, without a moment to breathe. Yesterday I spent the day doing nothing much, picnic at Clontarf, cleaning the house and reading.
I finally got around to drawing this afternoon, and got my Drawgasmic submission done. Now all I have to do is send it off.
Apart from that I have two Moleskine exchanges to get cracking on: Moly X55 and MolyX72, and I continue to draw monsters... of course!
