This piece is another illustration of an Ern Malley poem:

Dürer: Innsbruck, 1495

I had often, cowled in the slumberous heavy air,
Closed my inanimate lids to find it real,
As I knew it would be, the colourful spires
And painted roofs, the high snows glimpsed at the back,
All reversed in the quiet reflecting waters —
Not knowing then that Dürer perceived it too.
Now I find that once more I have shrunk
To an interloper, robber of dead men’s dream,
I had read in books that art is not easy
But no one warned that the mind repeats
In its ignorance the vision of others. I am still
the black swan of trespass on alien waters.

You only remember the last time you remembered it

OR

We always remember the worst things

This is a quick piece, I feel like I haven't painted for weeks (but in fact I did last weekend, not good, but it's not finished), I drew it quickly in pencil at work when everyone disappeared to have a break I guess... and well, the story kind of fitted my frame of mind that day.
Umm, monkeys that turn into menacing vampires... great.

I am almost spot on the day this week! Wooott!
That what happens when you cut the electricity in the house and you have to do something instead of mucking around on the computer... decided this topic would be full of polar bears and penguins, I think I am right from what I have seen, but that's ok. I was offended when someone at work said that they thought penguins sucked because they were so popular at the moment. Ummm. No (more) comment.
