So I received an email from a friend of mine (see this), who had caught up with a girl we went to school with called Mandy Ord while she was in Melbourne... (that makes our relationship sound distant, it wasn't), but Ordy being Ordy, is a very modest creature, and decided escaping everything she knew was the best idea, so we have a bit of space between us now, espeically me.
Above friend told me, in the process of talking to Ord, that she has a regular little fan base, (completely played down of course), even an unauthorised website , I suspect that's it. It made me laugh. She deserves it completely, she is such a talented little beast.

And yes, you should "send her a wad of cash"!

Joan figured that after her operation, she had extra space to hold Sunday night dances for penguins.

I drew this little black and white treasure on the Eurostar back from London, resisting to read Penguin Lost by Andrey Kurkov after reading Death and The Penguin in a matter of two days. Something I have fallen out of the habit of doing due to English books not always being easy to find without an internet hunt. Especially when you are a "reading snob" as I am called. So I bought his second book while in the middle of the first, so I had it. Glad I did.

Anyhow, Penguins were burnt into my brain.
So we have dancing penguins.

So I received my package from Thomp, and well, my kookaburra is seen here listening to Australian birdcalls. It is probably a little sad to be so excited about a CD of Australian birdcalls (no music, just as if you were sitting in the bush)... I have been using it to drown out the noisy Euro motorbikes that the kids are allowed to have at a certain age here in France. Noisy buggers!

So, I have been at home all day, trying to make headway with images for Italy... I still have many things bouncing in my head, and, at this point I have no idea what I am aiming for. I am finding it a bit frustrating. I I would post what I've done so far, but... no... still have time, and, sometimes when I actually am in Italy, or starting to work, it is when my brain really starts working in the way I want it to. Also, it is very beautiful here now, sunny, warm and it is hard to stay indoors in front of a computer, but I have to force myself to do it.

I have had this image (above) on my harddrive since a few weeks after returning from South Africa. I took the photos while VdB surfed, and made a frog village... I would have made it more elaborate and submitted to illustration friday, but it is a more of a photo to me.
Back to work on the idea I have.
