I am cheating a little here. This was my submission for Howiezine 06, which was titled "Superheroes". I feel like I haven't had time to breathe. So here it is.

I went to the Maison de la Culture du Japon à Paris yesterday (as well as Centre George Pompidou), to see the Katagami exhibition. It was beautiful. It gave me time out, but I rushed about all the same.

time to change

Decided it was time to change my blog a little... new header. New name, because it makes me laugh when people call me "ben", but they get really embarrassed. This is the full image I did. I used a small brush throughout to give it the texture. If I want stuff to be flat, I can screen print it.
It is my first REAL illustration since I got back from holidays.
And the year has already started well... more about that later.

As we are still kind of camping out, not in our own house, the creation of anything more than ink drawings still persists.

I have finally also had the chance to see some of my lomo photos from Canada, I think I need to override the automatic scanning my scanner does to get the full circle of the fisheye, but here is a little taste, I will post the full set (once I can spend a little more relaxed time in my flat) on my my lomo home, which I haven't done in a long time.

...and a skating monster, because I did half an hour of ice skating in Canada, and it was a bit shaky. I hadn't done it for years, and I was never fabulous at it as it was.

I had a quick peek at the Illustration Friday topic while I was in NY at a friend of my mans... so some of the above images are inspired by this.

I am back, and sadly, due to unfinished shower, no staying here at home, unless we want to wash in the sink, not tonight anyway.
We spent time in Canada (Christmas), where my Mother and my Step Father are living at the moment, then spent a three night non-stop, not doing much of what we wanted to do in New York... I have been there before, so I wasn't too worried about the sites, plus, I am never a very good tourist. Perhaps I'll post some photos at some stage. My mother bought me a fish-eye Lomo, so I played with that a lot, I just need to get it developed. I took only ink pens with me, and drew in the plane and while sitting around waiting for the snow to fall.
How hot is it in North America! It is too warm for this time of year, plus everything is heated to hell, I don't understand why they don't turn the heat down a few degrees and put on a jumper... perhaps then "they" can stop complaining about global warming. Sorry, my two cents.
I did eat tons of Asian (I was indulged)... I have been enjoying being slightly cold here again in Lille.
