I finally got my hands on some brads, chopped away and now have, well kind of have, one I am no longer in possession of... but I am very pleased with my sea beastie. I am looking forward to my weekend, (starting tomorrow), and doing some more.
These creatures are goauche on thick handmade water colour paper (paper from the Burnie Maker's Workshop no less). Maybe I'll print some, but I am not so sure as yet.

Strange Fish

This one is my favourite one so far. I just sat down after working in the restaurant for around 23 hours (with a six hour sleep after 15 of those hours). Just needed to get something on the blank piece of black I had painted. Now to get my hands on some brads and put him together, after cutting him out, of course.
I have had a thought of wanting to make a couple of jointed "animals" for a while... then I bought November and December from wool and water and it was kind of fun cutting them out and putting them together, I thought I might make some of my own.
Listening to "Experimental Jet Set Trash and No Star" by Sonic Youth...
I forgot how much I loved that album when it came out.

I feel like I am more relaxed now and getting back into working. A old friend of mine (who I would hope knows me pretty well after all the years we have known each other), tried to convince me that it was good to "have a block" and to even take a break instead of torturing yourself the whole time. Says she.
Obviously I live on stress. I took rescue remedy for three days running, I was certainly very nice to everyone despite feeling underneath something wasn't right... and promptly got a fabulous head cold. Ok, seems I was stressed. I was given a fake award at the end of school for keeping the highest level of constant stress over the whole year. So it isn't anything new.
On that note, the This Little Teapot exhibition has been pushed out to march 23 considering there seemed to be a problem with the delivery of the teapots. I only received mine this week... so sadly, I won't see the exhibition at all (being in France at the time), but it will be at Paper Plane Gallery in Rozelle (Sydney). The two fish will possibly be there. So far that is my idea... all fish, as usual.
