If I Was You
Tuesday, August 31, 2010, 12:48 AM - General, Relationships, Art/Design, Illustration, Exhibitions, Markets
I finally have time to knuckle down and do some work. I stupidly didn't take anything really with me to Melbourne, and spent the four days kind of kicking myself with my sketchbook, pencil, ink pen and four neutral ink brush pens. Very boring. not very good at resting.
Above is the submission to Sandra Diekmann's If I Was You Project. I was a little stressed with getting my piece to her... but all good now.

Drawgasmic Expo
Thursday, August 19, 2010, 10:03 AM - General, Relationships, Art/Design, Illustration, Stores: Etsy, Blue House, Exhibitions, Markets
I was sent over some photos of the Drawgasmic exhibition this week (strangely from Ms Flossy-p ) and in every photo I can see my little sea beast. If you look at the left, top row, there is a spotlight shining on one piece in particular, well, that is mine. Surely a little unintentional, but makes it easier to spot.
I am handing over all my pieces for the exhibition at Sweets Workshop this evening, which I am excited about. I have no real idea if I am helping John and Emma set it up or if they want to do it all alone.
I have a new stash of little cuddly monsters too, all ready for Hide & Seek
See you there perhaps.

I have a lot of things on the boil at the moment.
The above photo is the envelopes that the gift vouchers are going in for Hide & Seek gift bags, for the lucky first 25 people that arrive at the venue on the 22nd.
I am planning with no official opening date yet, (end of August definitely) at Sweets Workshop. Look out for the dates there. It will be all sea related pieces, which is pretty much all my recent work.
As a part of the Styl.us community, we are planned a publication of circular pieces, all the same size and specs. We are still discussing how to present it and where.
Sadly This Little Teapot has been pushed out until the start of 2011 for the exhibition. Leaves us all more time to do the work, although we haven't received the teapots yet. Soon, soon.

Collaboration
Sunday, July 25, 2010, 12:19 PM - General, Relationships, Art/Design, Illustration, Exhibitions, Markets
Despite doing a massive week at the restaurant, tonight, I have the interest of drawing and painting flowing through my veins. I have had an idea of using Japanese Kokeshi or daruma as a base for a set of illustrations, and I think this is where it might start (generally). This is the start of a very exciting collaboration with Catherine Campbell.
I also sent out my very first newsletter this week, after threatening to do it for months.
